Sessions and Sail Bursary Scheme
IN 2023 we were delighted to be able to offer a Bursary scheme for the first time.
We were offered assistance by a supporter of our project to allow one young person to sail on the Solstice Voyage - the Helen Picken award.
Sessions and Sail were able to match this support to sponsor a further place ourselves on our Orkney 2023 voyage.
Both Daniel and El were a great asset to these trips and thoroughly enjoyed the tunes and the sailing along with the group.
Based on this success, we plan to offer more Bursary places in 2024 and in future years.
2024 Bursary Scheme
Announced on 14th March 2024
On 14th March 2024 Sessions and Sail announced that the Bursary scheme will run again this year.
We are able to offer three (3) places. These sponsored places are aimed at allowing persons who would not normally be able to afford one of our trips, or young persons (aged 18-25), to join us.
The first bursary place will be one berth aboard our Solstice 'B' trip, Mallaig to Ullapool, June 22nd-28th this summer;
The second and third will both be aboard our 'South Mull and Lorne' trip, Oban-Oban, August 4th -11th.
These sponsored places are aimed at allowing persons who would not normally be able to afford one of our trips, or young persons (aged 18-25), to join us.
To win a trip, please email sessionsandsail@gmail.com, including a short summary - approximately 150 words - setting out your music, your background, and why you would like to join the trip.
Please include details on which trip you would prefer to join (Solstice, or South Mull and Lorne).
Sessions and Sail reserve the right to choose the three candidates based on our own appraisal of the applications. Entries will close at the end of March 2024; and we will announce the successful candidates in April.
